Description
Vesicularia cf. montagnei "Krabi" is a creeping, finely ramified moss, found in the calcium-rich waters near Krabi in southern Thailand. It looks more delicate than standard Christmas moss (Vesicularia montagnei) and is very similar to the so-named "Mini Christmas Moss", however it has a firmer structure. Its species belonging is still unclear; it is probably closely related to Vesicularia montagnei.
This tropical water moss is quite undemanding and tolerates hard water. It grows not too slowly. However it looks best with at least moderate lighting and good nutrient and CO2 supply. It can be tied or glued to wood or rock or stuffed into the gaps of the hardscape. Its creeping shoots attach themselves to the substrate by their rhizoids.
