Liliaceae Plant Tissue Culture

Liliaceae Plant Tissue Culture

Liliaceae is a group of Liliales that originated in China and is now mainly distributed in temperate regions of the northern hemisphere, including eastern Asia, Europe, and North America. At least 280 genera and 4,000 species have been discovered worldwide.

One of the Liliaceae plants with pink flowers

Liliaceae plants have a wide range of uses, both as flowers and medicines, many of which are edible, and some can be used to make beauty and health products. The bulbs of some species are rich in nutrients and can be eaten fresh or dried, or used medicinally.

Liliaceae plants are mainly propagated by asexual propagation such as cuttings, dividing plants and bulbs, but long-term asexual propagation will accumulate a large number of viruses in the plant and cause virus diseases, which will seriously affect the ornamental value of flowers and leaves as well as the medicinal value of bulbs and whole plants.

Tissue culture service

Lifeasible can produce non-viral Liliaceae seedlings using plant tissue culture technology. Our tissue culture technology is also widely used in selecting new varieties of Liliaceae plants, production of high-quality seedlings, variety purification and rejuvenation, production of secondary metabolites, germplasm resource innovation, conservation, etc.
