Graptopetalum Plant Tissue Culture

The seemingly ordinary plant may be a valuable material
for medicinal use, and it contains amazing substances that
need to be explored and discovered.

Graptopetalum plants belong to the Crassulaceae family, are native to Mexico, and are perennial succulent herbs. The leaves of this genus are extended rosettes, and the flowers are not bottle-shaped or campanulate, but rather stellate, with waxy, spotted petals. Graptopetalum plants are relatively robust, hardy, relatively easy to cultivate, and relatively easy to propagate, and are often used for urban landscaping and garden decoration.

In addition, Graptopetalum plants protect animal livers by reducing inflammation, steatosis, and fibrous degeneration. In particular, this genus inhibits the proliferation of activated hepatic stellate cells, which play an important role in hepatic fibrous degeneration.

Therefore, Graptopetalum plants can be used as a preventive and therapeutic agent for liver, lung, kidney, and bladder fibrous degeneration or inflammation, in addition to being a green plant for gardening. Other plants of the Crassulaceae family, especially Echeveria plants, have similar effects to those of Graptopetalum plants.

Tissue culture service

Graptopetalum plants have very high ornamental and medicinal values, but the production of this genus is mainly propagated by leaf plugs and is slow, with a slow production cycle, and the accumulation of viruses, which in turn affects the quality, seriously affecting the promotion and application development of Graptopetalum.

Lifeasible first determined the suitable concentrations of 6-BA, NAA, KT, IBA, and other plant growth regulators used in the culture process, and screened the key factors affecting the induction, proliferation, and rooting of Graptopetalum plants, and finally established a stable system for rapid propagation and production of Graptopetalum plants using tissue culture technology to improve the quality and yield of Graptopetalum plants.

  • Selection of explants

For explants selection, we found in our rich project experience that stem tip induction rate is significantly higher than stem and leaf, and most of the stem tips can be induced to grow buds and seedlings without healing tissues, with a good seedling establishment rate and high induction rate relative to leaves and stems, and some leaves can induce roots quickly when inducing healing tissues. So, we establish you to contact our staff to determine the size of the explant before providing the material.

  • Applications

Graptopetalum plants are slow to reproduce, and using the tissue culture fast propagation technology we provide can quickly obtain a large number of tissue-cultured seedlings. We cannot only provide tissue culture technology services for rapid propagation of Graptopetalum plants but also serve for the factory production of Graptopetalum plants.
