Despite the existence of luminescent plants, it is a challenge to make them available to the general public. In today's increasingly sophisticated technology, artificial cultivation of luminescent plants seems to be a good choice. Lifeasible provides a portable fluorescent protein excitation light source, which can be used in the ultra-clean bench to screen positive healing tissues labeled with fluorescent proteins easily and quickly.
Fluorescence is produced from the oxidation of luciferin, which reacts with oxygen at a prolonged rate in the absence of luciferase. The oxidation of luciferin by the enzyme luciferase simultaneously releases energy, and this energy manifests itself in the form of light, which is what we see as bioluminescence.
The Ti plasmid of Agrobacterium tumefaciens and the Ri plasmid of Agrobacterium rhizogenes have a piece of T-DNA on them. Agrobacterium can insert T-DNA into the plant genome after entering the cell by infesting the plant wound. Therefore, Agrobacterium is a natural plant genetic transformation system.
We mediate plant genetic transformation with the Ti plasmid of Agrobacterium tumefaciens, which can be achieved by inserting target genes, such as the luciferase gene, into the modified T-DNA region. The transfer and integration of exogenous genes into plant cells is realized with the help of Agrobacterium infection. Arabidopsis thaliana can be genetically modified by directly soaking plant flowers with Agrobacterium, while rice, tobacco, etc., are infected with healing tissues by Agrobacterium. Fluorescent tissue culture plants are then obtained by cell and tissue culture techniques.
Screening for plant tissue culture
We conduct plant transformation and tissue culture with labeled vectors. With the portable fluorescent protein excitation light source, we can screen healing tissues labeled with fluorescent proteins inside the ultra-clean bench and screen positive healing tissues conveniently and quickly. Whether green fluorescent protein (GFP) or red fluorescent protein (RFP), the operator only needs to wear professional observation glasses and can directly screen out the positive healing tissues.
The excitation light source mainly has UV, blue, and green light sources. It is mainly used for the fluorescence excitation of fluorescent proteins such as self-fluorescent objects, GFP, RFP, and other biological fluorescent proteins. It can also be used as a fluorescence microscope light source.
