Paeonia Plant Tissue Culture

Paeonia Plant Tissue Culture

Paeonia Plant Tissue CulturePaeonia plant with multi-layered and pink flowers
We provide an effective technical service to meet the
propagation and production needs of Paeonia plants.

Paeonia is a genus of perennial herbs with a long history of cultivation and is a well-known flower. This genus is popular for its charming, colorful, and large flowers, which are of great ornamental value.

In addition, research on the main chemical composition of Paeonia shows that it contains monoterpene glycosides, polyphenols, flavonoids, carotenoids, and other inclusions, which have therapeutic effects on cardiovascular and immune system diseases and are of great medicinal value.

The propagation methods of Paeonia include sowing, dividing, grafting, cutting, pressing, etc. Among them, dividing and sowing are common propagation methods, and dividing is easy and feasible, but the survival rate is low. The progeny of the sowing method is easy to produce variation and cannot retain the good traits of the parents.

Tissue culture service

As the most effective method of plant fast propagation, Lifeasible provides tissue culture technology, which has the advantages of short propagation period, high coefficient, good preservation of good traits, and easy mass production, and can replace the conventional method for propagation of Paeonia plants.

  • Selection of explants (related to the target material)

When we perform tissue culture of Paeonia plants, we have a wide variety of explants to choose from, including leaves, seeds, stem bases, cotyledons, underground shoots, embryonic axes, etc., and different explants show differences in their inductive potential. Please contact our staff for details on what type of plant tissue you can provide to us for your project.
Note: Please back up your experimental materials beforehand, and contact our staff immediately for an accurate response if you have any special needs.

  • Commonly used culture media and exogenous hormones

The optimal basic medium, hormone type, and concentration for different explants vary. MS and 1/2MS are the most commonly used media for healing tissue induction. In addition, we also have WPM, LP, B5, etc. as the basic medium depending on the specific species and explants.

The hormones we use are 2,4-D, NAA, IAA, IBA, 6-BA, TDZ, KT, ZT, etc. Depending on the specific situation, we may choose to use two or more hormones in combination to better promote healing tissue induction, proliferation, and differentiation of adventitious shoots.
