Photinia plants with bright red leaves
This is a fast-growing, low-cost, but economically efficient,
and in-demand garden plant, and we offer tissue
culture technology to meet the high volume and
quality needs of the market.
Photinia plants belong to the family Rosaceae and are deciduous or evergreen shrubs or trees (mostly evergreen). There are about 60 species of Photinia plants in the world, mainly in eastern and southern Asia.
Photinia plants have bright red new leaves and often have dense inflorescences with white flowers in summer and red fruits in autumn, making them the most beautiful ornamental trees. Because of its beautiful shape and adaptability, it has been established as the main tree species for urban greening in many cities.
Photinia plants are widely cultivated as important plant species for medicinal, ornamental, and greening of barren hills, and have broad application and development prospects because of their fast-growing, colorful, and easy cultivation characteristics.
The traditional methods of propagation of Photinia plants are sowing and cuttings, but the low coefficient and slow speed are problems that need to be solved. Lifeasible has established an economical and effective system of propagation of Photinia plants through tissue culture technology, which can meet and adapt to the market demand, and develop new varieties according to customer needs.
We advise our customers to consider the germplasm (species and variety) of the Photinia plant, the size of the explant, its age, the growing site, as well as the time and season of collection when deciding on a suitable culture material (feel free to consult our staff for any questions regarding these issues).
In Photinia plant tissue culture, we generally use young organs or tissues such as stem tips, side shoots, stem segments, young leaves, embryos, cotyledons, etc.
The culture genes vary from plant type to plant type or explants. We prepare basic media such as B5, N6, MS, 1/2 MS, White, WPM, etc., and will add plant hormones such as NAA, 6-BA, IBA, KT, IAA in appropriate proportions according to the actual situation.
The tissue culture of woody plants is much more difficult than herbaceous ones, and one of the key factors is the difficulty of rooting woody plants, and Photinia plants are no exception. However, we have developed a stable culture system and exclusive additive through crossed multi-factorial experiments, which can improve the rooting rate and shorten the rooting time of the regenerated plants of Photinia plants in tissue culture, which is the key point to speed up the rapid propagation of Photinia plants and reduce the cost.
