Sagittaria sp. "Needle" Needle leaf arrowhead

Sagittaria sp. "Needle" Needle leaf arrowhead

Catalog Number
AP-0382
Description
A very narrow-leaved relatively small Sagittaria belonging to the Sagittaria subulata complex. It was cultivated at Peter Schneider's ("Aquarium Perle", Zuzgen, Switzerland) for decades, where it was given the provisory name of Sagittaria "filiformis". The leaves are often not longer than 10 cm and 1.5 to 2 mm wide. When nutrients are ample and CO2 is supplied they may grow to approx. 30 cm in length and 3 mm in width. The colour is medium to olive green, under intensive light they may turn light brownish red. Looks a bit like Vallisneria nana and Helanthium tenellum. Undemanding, suitable for tanks without a CO2 supplying system, but needs a bit more light than standard S. subulata.
