Common Name
Amphibious Water-milfoil
Description
This water-milfoil from eastern Australia is also traded with the label Myriophyllum propinquum. In its submerged form it has light green, densely leaved stems with very finely pinnate leaves. This fast-growing stem plant needs good lighting and thrives well at temperatures between 20 and 28℃. It is easily propagated by cuttings of the stem tip and side branches. In its terrestrial form, this milfoil species looks very different, with needle-like leaves on thick stems. Planted under water, it soon develops submerged shoots with the typical pinnate leaves.
