Lindernia sp. "India" Indian Lindernia

Lindernia sp. "India" Indian Lindernia

Catalog Number
AP-0176
Description
A new, interesting, delicate stem plant with small, round, reddish leaves. It is said to originate from India and could not yet determined to species. Lindernia sp. "India" has a strictly upright, only little branched growth habit and differs from the very similar Lindernia rotundifolia by its reddish colour. This still rare Lindernia is not difficult to grow whith good nutrient and CO2 supply. It prefers-and looks best with-rather strong lighting. Lindernia sp. "Red" looks best as a group of differently long stems in the midground of an aquarium. With its small leaf size it is also suitable for nano tanks. Lindernia sp. 'India', a variety of Lindernia that probably originates from India, but hasn't been closer identified yet, is quite widely spread as an aquarium plant in the USA. In Europe, it is not yet available in trade and mostly still unknown in the hobby. However, true Rotala indica ("Ammannia sp. 'Bonsai'") has been on sale as Lindernia sp. 'India' due to a mix-up. Of the few Lindernia species that have already found their way into the hobby, this variety is probably the most colourful. The leaves can turn to a light purple, whereas the stems remain green. All in all, L. sp. 'India' shows the most resemblance to Lindernia rotundifolia. L. sp. 'India' is described as quite demanding. A constant supply of CO2, macro- and micronutrients as well as soft water are recommended.
