Limnophila cf. hippuridoides "Mini"

Limnophila cf. hippuridoides "Mini"

Catalog Number
AP-0957
Description
This pretty, bushy growing stem plant of unknown origin is recently spread in the aquarium hobby as Limnophila aromatica "Mini". It looks more like a small version of Limnophila hippuridoides, hence our provisional name. The leaf whorls get about 5 to 6 cm wide, with 4 to 7, mostly 5 leaves. Especially the shoot tips are light reddish, the leaf undersides are strongly red-violet. Low light causes rather light green leaves. The plant grows moderately fast. As well as normal Limnophila hippuridoides, this dwarf form grows best with much light, complete macro- and micronutrient supply and CO2 addition. Occasional trimming supports a dense growth habit. The propagation is simply done by cuttings. Limnophila cf. hippuridoides "Mini" looks especially beautiful as a bushy group in the midground, also in the background of smaller tanks. Its appearance resembles Limnophila hippurides, with smaller size, more bushy growth habit and lower space requirement.
