Eriocaulon breviscapum

Eriocaulon breviscapum

Catalog Number
AP-0860
Description
The trading name "Malayattoor" surely refers to the village with the same name in Kerala, and Eriocaulon sp. "Malayattoor" likely originates from this region of southwestern India. This plant is not yet determined to species, however it is apparently very similar to Eriocaulon breviscapum. It develops a lot of very narrow, soft, rather upright submerged leaves in a dense tuft. The plant is about 15-30 cm tall. There is still little concrete information about the requirements of this Eriocaulon, but we have the impression that it is not very difficult to grow. However we recommend strong lighting, CO2 supply and a nutrient-rich substrate. Eriocaulon sp. "Malayattoor" is an eyecatcher in the midground, as specimen plant or loose, small group. Apparently it is a species that grows better submerged than emersed.
