Description
Rainers Felix' is an especially recommendable small Echinodorus cultivar. Like the similar 'Rainers Kitty', iIt was selected by Tomas Kaliebe and entered the trade around 2002. Its narrowly elliptic submerged leaves are about 10-20 cm long. The submerged leaves have a striking, dense pattern of red-brown spots on light green ground.
As well as virtually all Echinodorus, 'Rainers Felix' grows best with abundant macro- and micronutrient supply via the substrate. Strong lighting enhances the intense coloration of the submerged foliage. The water parameters are of subordinate importance, the plant also tolerates hard water, however CO2 supply promotes the growth.
With its bright coloration and striking pattern, Echinodorus 'Rainers Felix' is an eyecatcher in the aquarium. It is well suited as single plant or group in the midground, also in the foreground of taller tanks. It can even be used as solitary plant in nano tanks.
