Description
Legro's Water Trumpet is a long known form of Cryptocoryne walkeri from the central highland of Sri Lanka. It is a triploid form (having a triple chromosome set). Under water it develops ovate-elongate leaves with olive green to light bronze, shining upper side and red to red brown underside. The margin is wavy, the tip acuminate. The plant gets a height of about 10-15 cm and is as undemanding as other, related Sri Lanka crypts, however, it grows more slowly. Within few months it develops a nice stand. It is mostly delivered in its emersed (terrestrial) form, with broader, very variable leaves. Planted in the aquarium, it will develop its narrower, wavy submerged leaves.
