Description
This is a green variant of the time-tested Cryptocoryne undulata, native to Sri Lanka. The plant gets a low to medium height in aquariums, mostly below 30 cm. The narrowly lanceolate leaves have a wavy edge and red-brown stalks.
Cryptocoryne undulata 'Green' is not demanding and still grows in low light tanks. However medium lighting and a nutrient-rich bottom are very beneficial for its growth. It is easily propagated by its underground runners.
As well as the common brown form of Cryptocoryne undulata, the green form is a versatile aquarium plant, best placed in the midground, in higher tanks also in the foreground. It forms extended stands with time.
