Bucephalandra sp. "Biblis Round Tip"

Catalog Number

Description
The Bucephalandra "Biblis Round Tip" is a relatively small Bucephalandra form with a distinct, creeping growth habit. Its exact locality and species affiliation are unknown to us, but like all Bucephalandras, it occurs on rocks along streams in Borneo. We've propagated this Bucephalandra form in our aquaria for over a year now. The rhizomes are quite strongly ramified and grow horizontally. The elongate, short-stalked leaves have a round tip and wedge-shaped bases, they are about 2.5 cm long and 8 mm wide. The leaf edges are slightly wavy. The coloration of the leaves is dark-olive green to brown-green, young leaves show a nice brown-red coloration. As well as other Bucephalandra forms, it is best used as an epiphyte on rock or wood, however it can also be fixed to the ground, provided that the rhizome is not buried completely. It is easily propagated by cuttings. Medium lighting conditions, good CO2 and nutrient supply and water current are recommendable. Bucephalandra sp. "Biblis Round Tip" is a versatile plant for hardscape, interesting for its low, prostrate growth. It is also small enough to be used in nano aquariums.
