Bacopa caroliniana "Colorata"

"Colorata" is a red colour variant of Bacopa caroliniana. It differs from the customary form of that species by its attractive, conspicuously light red coloration of the shoot tips in the submerged stage. Also standard B. caroliniana may tend to reddish hues under strong lighting, however this is considerably more pronounced in Bacopa caroliniana "Colorata". This remarkable Bacopa variant is still a rarity in Europe. This Bacopa has the same little demands as normal B. caroliniana, however its coloration looks best with intense lighting. This stem plant has a moderate growth rate, therefore it is easy to handle. A well lit group of Bacopa caroliniana "Colorata" is an eyecatcher in the midground to background of larger tanks.
