Anubias barteri var. nana 'Aquaflora Snow White'

This extraordinary, very small-leaved selection of the Dwarf Anubias is produced by the company Aquaflora as Anubias nana 'Snow White'. However its leaves have more green coloration than the original 'Snow White', that's why we label the plant as 'Aquaflora Snow White'. The plants vary from almost white to white-green variegated. The roundish ovate leaf blades are up to 1.5 cm long but mostly stay smaller. There is not yet much experience with this miniature Anubias as aquarium plant. Generally, Anubias species are known for their easiness and robustness, but Anubias barteri var. nana 'Snow White' is a demanding plant. It is sold as in-vitro plant that may be sensitive to new conditions, so we recommend to put it in already cycled, well-established aquariums This rare miniature Anubias needs good lighting because it has only little chlorophyll. Also a complete nutrient supply and CO₂ addition are recommendable. The plant grows very slowly. It is best fastened to rock or wood or fixed to the ground. Do not bury the rhizome, otherwise it may rot. Anubias barteri var. nana 'Aquaflora Snow White' provides a very light colour accent on the hardscape and contrasts well with many other, mostly dark coloured epiphytes. With its small size it also fits well in nano aquariums.
