Description
This attractive Dwarf Anubias selection is produced by the nursery Aquaflora (Netherlands) with the label 'Pangolino', however it differs from the original 'Pangolino that has smaller, narrower leaves. Therefore we call the plant 'Aquaflora's Pangolino'.
The plant resembles the new cultivar 'Paxing' but has smaller, somewhat narrower leavs. The narrowly elliptic to lanceolate leaves are glossy, dark green, having an about 3 cm long and 1,4 cm broad blade. Similar to the original 'Pangolino', it has a very compact, dense growth habit. 'Aquaflora's Pangolino' is apparently a little faster growing than 'Pangolino'.
As well as the wild type, Anubias barteri var. nana, 'Aquaflora's Pangolino' is very suited as an undemanding epiphyte for the hardscape. It can also be placed on the ground, but the rhizome should not be buried in order to prevent rotting. With Anubias barteri var. nana 'Aquaflora's Pangolino', the range of small Anubias cultivars is enriched with a plant that has similarly narrow leaves as the true 'Pangolino' and 'Paxing', with a size between those two cultivars.
